Chronic Cold Coffee Syndrome

Ugh. Mom problems!

The lack of sleep that comes along with a new baby has gotten much better & is almost gone. Though Greyson does still like to wake up a few times during the night for a little snack in bed with mom!

Problem is - Greyson is wayy active, constantly on the go & wanting to explore everything he can get his little hands on! Gone are the days when I could let him chill while I get things done, such as dishes or his laundry.

Now my day consists of:

Playing in bed in the morning, hiding in the comforter

Watching the boys catch up on football [on the weekends of course]

Grey chowing down some oatmeal as I try to eat my own breakfast

Greyson can now pull himself up on the side of his pack n play onto his knees - he is planning his escape route no doubt

Watching Greyson walk around the living room in his walker, making silly faces

Chasing after him since he thinks he is a dog & must play with their toys & try to eat their food

Dress him up as Batman & make him "fly"

Cuddle with my boys

And by the end of it all, there sits my coffee.. Cold & untouched by my lips.

As we can see, I either need to develop something awesome that keeps my coffee hot for hours or I need to learn to multitask & play with the lil dude while I enjoy my hot caffeine! Too bad there isn't a coffee Camelback!

Greyson meets Auntie Terra

My little sister came to visit us in Germany during her short break between semesters! She literally spent every free day traveling or here in Germany! I was so excited for her to visit so we could show her some fun things here & of course - meet Greyson!

Terra & Greyson ready for dinner outside

He was just so excited! :)

Love my little sister!

We hung out at our house for a few days so she could adjust to the time difference. Jet lag can be a real pain in the you-know-what!

Terra tagged along on Greyson's 6 month appointment! She helped me stay calm during his shots since I can get a little emotional watching them happen! And then it was off to Neunkirchen Zoo!!

Terra & Greyson looking at the seals swimming around

Greyson sitting on the bouncy elephant play-thing! He was so proud of himself

Greyson got to pet some ponies at the zoo!

Greyson is obsessed with necklaces! Trying to get a picture of them & this is what he wanted to do instead!

Finally one of him looking - except he was mad since she took her necklace off! ha

Next adventure: Rhinestein Castle! We've been to a few castles before this & it was honestly my favorite so far! Many castles are basically ruins & the ones that aren't have most of the castle blocked off. Rhinestein was so open & they had rooms set up like they would have been around the time royals lived in the castle. Plus it is right on the Rhine River & had an amazing view!

Terra, Greyson & I in front of the Rhine River

Terra & Greyson!

Had to get a picture throwing it up! ;)

Terra & her Rhinestein wine!

German Eiskaffe - coffee with ice cream in it! Greyson wanted it sooo bad!

Last but not least: We ventured to Luxembourg to see the American Military Cemetery. Such a beautiful memorial honoring those who gave their lives during WWII, including those who are still missing! Over 5,000 headstones can be found, including that of General George S. Patton, & 2 monuments with over 320 names of those missing. It was a humbling experience.

It was such an amazing trip & I am so grateful that my sister was able to come & let me share some of our life here with her! Greyson loved meeting his Auntie Terra & spending lots of time with her! Cannot wait until we are able to make a trip back to the states to meet everyone else in his big, crazy family! <3

Greyson is 6 Months Old!

WOW! I cannot believe my baby boy is 6 months old already!! He has grown & changed so much from the day he was born! I have taken a picture of Greyson every month since he was born. It's crazy to see how much he's changed in such a short time of his life!

Weight: 13 lb 8 oz
Length: 26 inches

New things I like to do:
 - Eat solid food - so far I've had sweet potatoes, banana, oatmeal & squash
 - Roll all over the floor
 - Low crawl towards anything I see
 - Stroll around the house in my walker
 - "Talk" to mommy & daddy
 - Play with my toys in the bath
 - Grab daddy's glasses off of his face
 - Get tickled by mommy & daddy
 - Sit straight up in my car seat & stroller

Things I don't like:
 - Being tired
 - Not getting to play with mommy & daddy's iPads or phones
 - Falling over when I try to sit on my own
- Having to lean back in my car seat

Milestones!

Man things change - Quickly! I'm not talking the general growth of babies. I mean those things that everyone tells you baby will try to do & struggle & all of a sudden it clicks. Watching it happen is literally mind-blowing!

Greyson has been semi-mobile for a little while now. I say "semi" because his mode of transportation has been to roll everywhere on the floor. We started putting a blanket down, since we don't have carpet, & he spends most of his time off of it. His favorite spot is under our coffee table! Its like his own little baby fort!

"Heyyyy mom!"

He has been trying to do this swimming like movement to get around for awhile & it wasn't working - mainly because he would flail his arms & legs in the air without touching the ground! While Greg was home on lunch today, he was trying to scoot to us by the kitchen, but it wasn't working, despite his great efforts.

Seriously, maybe 10 minutes after Greg left, he started putting his arms on the ground & using his feet to push himself & army crawl across the floor. Now he's non-stop! He spent 5 minutes chasing me & my laptop around trying to play with it as I write this!

Sitting on his own like a big boy

He's working & doing pretty well in my opinion with sitting up on his own! He still topples after a little bit, but its getting longer each day & he's able to play with toys instead of using his arms to brace himself! Hopefully he's a full-on sitter by his 6 month photoshoot!

Scoot, scoot all around trying to get, you guessed it, the dog toys! He has so many of his own but would much rather crawl & roll around to get the dogs toys I am constantly moving & Dexter is always playing with! Most of the time when he's on the move, that's what he's after! Silly boy!

In his walker giving us some smiles!

We got Greyson a walker - nothing fancy, but he can sit in it & he can walk around which he loves doing!  He takes his toys on little tours of the living room & tries to grab everything off the coffee table. It was almost a sad realization the other day that we need to baby proof a little more since he can get to tons of things in our house now! Hellooooo babygates!
